Cork Bank. Roberts, Bennel, Leslie.

Unissued 1 Guinea note. No idea of the date here.

This version of the Cork Bank had Thomas Roberts as lead partner and this particular group of partners operated between 1799 and 1810. By the way, the name of the second partner is Bonwell, James Bonwell :)

I attach an earlier version of a 1 guinea note from this partnership, dated September 1808. Cork is omitted from the bank name !

That must be unusual for a private note, just having 'BANK' on it at the top, especially as late as 1808.

Yes, that is unusual to have just Bank at the top of the note ! I attach an example from a different bank where only Cork is mentioned without reference to bank. This note is also interesting in that the year is missing from the date :)
