Version 2.2.0 to v2.2.1 CAP3 upgrade

Additions and changes to the main website will go here.

With the completion of SLEP3 after 5 years of constant rolling upgrades to modernise the website, irishpapermoney.com will undergo a Content Addition Program upgrade, its third, to add new content and upgrade the quality of existing older content.

CAP 3 will see the addition of a major new section on the Irish private banks. The private banks were the the sole entities which created and supplied paper currency to Ireland in the period from ca1670 up to the creation of the Bank of Ireland in 1783. There were over 100 private banks.


CAP3: Completed 01.11.20 v2.2.0–2.2.1
Phase 1. Restructuring of the section on Token issues, and addition of RoMa local currency issue, 1999.
Phase 2 = Phase Four of SLEP 3. Addition of a section on the Private banks to the website, generally pre-1836.

CAP3 Phase 2 will start with a basic Introductory section, onto which will be added sections with notes from several of the more important and well-known banks.
The section on Private banks was started in 2010, and paused shortly thereafter.

—Addition of background information and offsite links on Private Banks.

Changes summary
Phase 1. Restructuring of the section on Token issues, and addition of RoMa local currency issue, 1999. Completed 22.09.20.
Phase 2. Section on Irish Private Banks added to web site. Completed 01.11.20.

Additional structural upgrades. Back-Next buttons have been removed sitewide, apart from the Historical Timeline. These date from the modem era and are now obsolete as navigational tools.

–Addition of a section on Specimen banknotes of A Series, B Series, C Series notes of signatures not already imaged. This section will include all Legal Tender Note specimens.
–A Series Waterlow Specimens 1928-1960; Central Bank specimens 1974-1977 -Completed 21.12.20

–A Series De La Rue Specimen notes 1959-1976

Phase 2: — 60% complete
Upgrade of image quality in image galleries of Irish Government Banknotes.
This will be an on-going progressive upgrade.

Added a section on Legal Tender Specimen banknotes to the website. Initially this section covers all known types of A Series Lavery specimen notes. It will be expanded to include specimen notes of B Series and C Series notes, and also Lavery notes produced as De La Rue specimens.
