An AU grade £100 note from 1928 would be expected to fetch 12,000-15,000 in auction.

I'd say you could probably count the number of these known to exist on one hand? (though maybe two :) )

There are very few of them, £50 and £100 notes in that grade.
Curiously, no 1928 £20 notes have been seen in better than nive VF grade.
