The best grade 1928 £20 note I have seen is VF. Mostly, the notes turn up in VG to Fine.
1928 examples of all the other denominations have been seen in high grade.

Only one 1928 date was issued for the £50 Lady Lavery notes, 10.9.28. This is the only date issued by The Currency Commission for this denomination and as such is highly sought after by collectors. The printage figure for this denomination was low (ca.10,000) with only one prefix Y/01.

A few high grade examples such as the one attached are known but are seriously expensive. Lower grade notes occasionally appear on the market providing an opportunity for the dedicated collector to obtain an example of this key note in the Lavery Series.

The above note is one of two AU grade examples I have seen.
Printage for the 10.9.28 was exactly 10,000 notes, as the first note dated in 23.3.43 is number 01Y 010001.

Interesting to hear that the printage figure is now accurately established for 10.9.28. Number 9433 is also known in AU. Does that mean that 9432 has not been seen to date?

Yes, 009432 is still unrecorded, presumed out there.
