Despite my best efforts, I have never seen a non-specimen Irish Free State banknote in UNC. Are any known?

There are several runs in sequence known for dates in 1933 and 1937, with the notes grading at GEF to About UNC.
Also, some of the low numbered 10.9.28 notes were kept, and might have survived in AU grade, 10 Shilling notes number 000001 and 000002 are known, both in AU grade.

I have a£1 note dated 15.3.33 which is AU, and I've seen a 1934 as well, don't remember which date it was.

No, I mean UNC UNC, but do these AU notes you describe have any folds?

An AU note doesn't have folds. Light handling at best. my 1933 has no folds or creases. Its corners show a little wear when looked at under a magnifying glass.
