Back in the late 1990´s I was very happy obtaining a lot of new issued notes directly from the Central Bank.
A big surprise was a £50 Note with the EEE replacement prefix and the nice number 056000.
What numbered notes are known??

Wow, getting a replacement note like that from the bank was a nice find. Nicely done!

There are only two dates for the EEE £50 replacement notes, 06.10.95 and 14.02.96 (lowest number seen, 024637). There is a list of the replacement note number brackets on the main web site.

The Central Bank was very good to collectors in those days, going to the trouble of actually posting out notes to people who would write in.

@Mac, do you know if there were one or two SPECIMEN versions of the 50 Series C?

Thanks,
Bill

Specimens are generally produced when there is a major alteration in design on Irish notes, such as a signature change.

It is highly likely that a Specimen £50 would have been done when the signatures were changed to Muiris S. Ó Conaill and John A. Hurley.
Probably RRR.
