Banknote Valuations requests thread
This thread is for valuation requests on Irish banknotes only.
Coin valuation requests go in Topics not related to Irish banknotes.
When requesting a valuation, best to post a picture of the note, or at the very least describe it clearly and in detail.
It is not really feasible to answer general questions such as "I've got a 1965 £20 note, wheat is it worth?"

If you upload an image of the note I'll be able to give you a fairly accurate valuation on it.

Roughly around 1300-1500 Euro, imho.
Looks like there is a small tear on the left side which affects the value.

Don't know about sealed plastic, depends on the plastic, I guess. I'd need to see it.
For a valuation on the Irish notes, best to post a list of them, giving date plus serial number of each one.
I should be able to give you a reasonable estimate. For notes of significant value you could post a picture for a more accurate estimate.
I could also give a ballpark valuation on the English notes. Don't know anything about coins, I'm afraid.

Yes. Mostly worth about double face value. English notes have much higher printage, so only valuable if they are older, and in new Uncirculated condition.Glasgowman wrote:English banknotes.
I"m away at the moment, will check the others when I get back to my computer on Monday.

I have a 1989 20 pound note, pretty good condition, with lots and folds and creases, but crisp/firm paper, and a medium amount of grubbiness on the back. Also, small amount of writing on watermark and small folding hole on the middle. Any idea of value?

Re: Banknote Valuations requests thread
Not much over its face value I'm afraid, maybe 30 Euro.

Thank you for the valuation. I also have a 10 pound note, dated 1987, between XF and UNC condition, a 50 pound note, dated 1991, in VG-F condition, and a 1989 one pound note, UNC. Any thoughts on the value?

£50 1991: whatever you can get over face value.

G-VG condition, with folding holes, and frayed edges. Also they are dated 21.4.75, and on one note there is darker paper. Worth only face value?

In that grade those notes are worth face value.

Re: Banknote Valuations requests thread
Hi, I am new to this site.
I am enquiring if you could possibly give me any information on the Irish Banknotes that my partner has been given. They are all in plastic sleeves, the notes look in excellent condition with no signs of pen marks, tears, holes or creases and we have not taken them out of the sleeves.
We have the following Lady Lavery banknotes:
• Lady Lavery £100 – 26.02.73 – Number on note 02Z062069
• Lady Lavery £50 – 04.04.77 – Number on note 05A022223
• Lady Lavery £20 – 21.03.62 – Number on note 17X065038
• Lady Lavery £10 – 16.07.68 – Number on note 01D564267
• Lady Lavery £5 – 22.01.64 – Number on note 94W364705
• Lady Lavery £1 – 03.04.63 – Number on note 24G600753
We also have 2 different Irish banknotes one being a gentleman with glasses, accompanied by a dog & lady, on the reverse of the note is a map - this one is £20
The last one we have is a gentleman playing a harp with children standing to the right of him, this one is £50.
Any information would be greatly received. We have researched these notes above and have seen that they vary in price on various selling sites.
I would imagine the code would determine the value of the notes.
Could you possibly advise me of the value of these notes, I can post pictures if you would prefer - however I'm not sure how to post pictures in the forum.
Thank you
Regards
Lorraine

@Lorraine-Ellen
Hi, you need to post pictures. Value depends on grade, how nice the notes are.
