Here is a later example of the 10,000 shillings (£500) note issued by The East African Currency Board in 1951. This high grade example achieved a hammer price of £53,000 at auction.

Thats about $72,000. Very high for non-US currency!

Here is an attractive Straits Settlements specimen note printed ca.1919. The $10,000 note was the highest denomination of this series.

The S$10,000 was only used for internal Bank Settlements.

Examples of the lower denominations entered circulation but the $10,000 appears to have been used only for inter bank transfers and as such would not have been available to the general public.

The 10,000 Ringgit of Negara Brunei Darussalam is one of the highest denomination notes issued in modern times with a face value close to 2,000 euro (August 2021). Here are examples from the 1989 and 2006 Series.

Here is an attractive high denomination $10,000 note issued by Singapore during the 1980s’. This is the highest denomination of the Bird Series with a face value now of close to 6,000 euro.

5,000 Fims.
This note had a relatively low purchasing power in its time. This note became 50 MK in the 1963 issue when the Finnmark was devalued by a factor of 100.
