has anyone seen a similar banknote

I wonder what it is, when you take a good look, you can see the mirror image of the Bank of Ireland one pound note

It is the reverse side of a Bank of Ireland £1 note.
Looks like G/88 prefix, which would put it sometime in 1908 or 1909, date is 17 Feb.

The paper is wrong though—it is not watermarked, and it is straight cut.

so it is not a banknote,
so I assume it is something that has come into contact when printing banknotes.
does it make sense?

Here is the front!
I just spotted it on ebay.
It is a print of a banknote or a print out from a scan. A modern reproduction. It could be from the 1970s or 80s.

I think the person listing it on ebay believes it to be genuine. I sent him a pm to the effect that it is a reproduction.
The details, date and number look to be genuine, so it is a reproduction of an actual note.

Interesting, but probably not worth much more than a couple of Euro, especially as there might be lots of them out there!

Nice find !
It is clear that the paper is wrong.

Interesting though that the details of the note appear to be correct.
Someone may have the genuine version of this note in their collection.

It looks to be actually printed.

It may be a print from the Bank of Ireland Arts Centre museum in Foster Place from the 1980s. At one stage they had a facility whereby visitors could print a facsimile of an old note, though it was a note from the 1830s, previous design, that I remember seeing at the time.

Those were the days, when banks had visitor centres, and archives that could be visited!
