Scully Tipperary Bank

Post by ThePloughman »

A forgery of an early 1800s bill. It’s a low grade, date torn away. PMI says this bank was closed properly in 1827.

I am not aware of any examples of genuine notes from this bank, which makes sense considering that the bank was closed with all its notes being redeemed.

Yes, this appears to be the only note seen to date for this bank and an apparent forgery at that. This bank had a relatively small issue and appears to have been quite stable surviving the 1820 Crisis. Not a good combination for the modern day collector but well appreciated by original customers of the bank !
