Re: Irish Euro Notes - Europa Series
I came across some 20 euro notes recently in circulation which are unusual in having the prefix RR. These notes are printed by German printer, Bundesdruckerei, and it is the first example I have seen where the prefix letter is repeated.

That is indeed an interesting prefix. I am sure it has an unexciting meaning, like that R was the next letter up for usage in the sequence!

Incidentally while messing around I did Accidentally discover that there is an accurate pre decimal Measure of a Euro in Irish Pound Terms:
You’ll be surprised, here goes:
IR£0.787654 = €1
IR 15 Shillings 9 Pence = €1
IR£0.787564 x 4 = IR£3.15 = €4
=> 3 Irish Guineas = 4 Euro

I had an NN prefix last week. Took a pic but it’s too large to upload. Serial was NN3600945123 and was a €20 note.

RR, NN. A pattern is emerging here, I think.

JohnnyQ, thanks for confirming the sighting of an NN prefix note, printed in Austria. Here is an image of a 20 euro note with this prefix.

I came across this 10 euro note in change with an interesting countermark. The note was printed in Germany and the countermark appears to be ‘ASPC20’.
