Lavery Ten Shilling notes

Post by Mac »

Only one date remains to be recorded for the web site.
If anyone has a pic, please post it!

All the dates of the Lavery Ten Shilling notes have been recorded, except one note!
15.5.45 is the last date remaining to be recorded.
Not only have much rarer dates been seen, but several examples of far rarer dates have been recorded—this is just the last date left.

Back in 2009 the last One Pound note turned up, putting paid to a theory we had to explain the fact that the first post-war dates of both the 10 Shilling and One Pound notes were the only ones missing. Thus, if the Pound is out there, so is the 10 Shilling note :)

The 10 Shilling note dates are here.

One Pound notes here.

Based on ten shilling notes near the elusive 15.5.45 date, it appears that the prefix should be 40H. Could the serial number range be even more restricted than this?

It is part of 40H. I have recorded a 28.3.44 note with prefix 40H.
