Series B 20 pound EEE replacement note. Recorded low numbers

EEE 000001 was saved, along with several other very low number notes from EEE 000002 onwards.
These notes were saved by one of the more active collector groups of the 1980s.

The following notes have been recorded:
EEE 000001;
EEE 000002, EEE 000003, EEE 000004, EEE 000005, EEE 000006, EEE 000007;
EEE 000012, EEE 0000013.

That’s a really nice group of low numbered replacement notes. The number 1 is a particularly great find. Haven't seen one of those before

I think I remember seeing number 8 also, though I don't have a note of it, so haven't listed it above.

07.01.80 is the only date I have seen UNC B Series replacement notes for.
There were a lot of replacement notes for this date, over 200000 notes, and a higher numbered notes have been seen in UNC as well as these nice low numbers.

Yep... seems like UNC is hard to find for other dates. Attached is the best quality £20 replacement I have from 1981... EF grade is probably fair

That's a nice original note you have there, very tough to find £20 replacement notes in such nice grade.
