I have noticed a minor change that occurred, probably during rather than just after the A/91 prefix run - the prefix and serial numbers are set lower, presumably to avoid being printed over the underlying text. A couple of scans attached to illustrate the point. All A/92 notes and all so far seen beyond that have lower set prefix/serials.

You're right! I just scrolled through all of the examples in the date listings, and the gap between the date and serial numbers has been reduced so that the number falls into the blank portion of the note.

Nice find!

Here is the A91 from the date listings

Here is a Bank of Ireland £1 dated 18th Sep. 1920 with the signature of A.G. Fleming. This one is missing from the photo gallery on Irishpapermoney but it is mentioned that the date was previously recorded.

A very nice find! This date is one of the dates which I derived based on the known patterns of Bank of Ireland banknote printing for its old notes - which is that of one prefix per date!
Added to the website :)

Just spotted this unrecorded date for Bank of Ireland £1 notes. This note appeared recently on ebay.

Nice one - thanks for that. It is always nice to fill in a completely blank entry!

Here's the same note, now in another auction and looking like it's been to the laundrette!

Looks like the note received an extensive 'makeover' :)

... laundered. Found it - the graffiti on the reverse has been 'adjusted'.

Here is the reverse prior to 'adjustment', a message in what looks like ink.

There is a steady trickle of unrecorded notes turning up. It is always nice to fill in an unknown date for a prefix!

Here is another one. I recorded the date and prefix a long time ago, now a note with this date has surfaced on eBay.

This is the first image I have seen of prefix A/39 dated 13 Sep 1918. Currently on offer in a Fonsie Mealy auction.

A new addition to the list of images - thanks for that. Quite a decent grade note also.
