As you mention, no issued notes with the NK prefix are known. A few examples in issued form with prefix NJ have been seen. A very rare type in issued form.

It is always interesting when relatively recent dates, in this case 1950s, emerge as rarities. The Provincial banknote designs were being modernised in the early 1950s, which I think accounts for the rare date.
At some stage we will get around to activating the section in the main website on Provincial of Bank of Ireland, and other Northern Ireland Issues.
