Re: Ulster Bank 1929 - Continuing
The Ulster Bank introduced a new series of notes in 1966 with completely new designs depicting agriculture, industry and tourism. Notes for £1, £5, £10 were issued in 1966 bearing the signature of J.J.A. Leitch while a £20 denomination was issued in 1970.
There is an interesting variety of notes available to collectors from this issue, including standard issued notes, specimen notes, colour trials and stage proofs. Here is an example of a £1 issued note and a rare unadopted £1 trial design having a logo with a red hand and shamrock.

A £20 note with the J.J.A. Leitch signature was introduced in 1970. The issued example illustrated was sold at Noonan’s in July 2023 at a hammer price of £1,000. This is a scarce note and examples in high grade command strong prices.

Leitch signature notes are seldom offered. This example is quite nice, better than average.

Re: Ulster Bank 1929 - Continuing
Ulster Bank introduced £1, £5 and £10 notes of reduced size in 1971 with the signature A.E.G. Brain. A £20 note was also issued with the larger size maintained. These notes are scarce in high grade.
Here is an example of a £1 dated 15th February 1971 with the A.E.G. Brain signature. This note was sold at Noonans, British and Irish Banknote Auction, in October 2024.
