Proofs of B Series banknotes

Post by Mac »

Here is a Series B Twenty Pound partial proof, which will be in the October DNW auction.

B Series proofs are seldom seen.

Interesting to see the initial design with the 1979 date and without the underprint. I wonder if they ever experimented with colour trials?

I think the colours may have been chosen early on for Series B notes, as far back as 1973 when the first designs were submitted.

Nice.
There's something wierd going on with the color of the signatures and the £20 on the face. It's lighter than normal.
