The Belfast Commercial Bank was established on the 1st June 1809. The original partners were William Tennent, Robert Callwell, Robert Bradshaw, John Cunningham, John Thompson and John Stewart. The Bank went through a number of partnership changes before merging with the Belfast Bank of Narcissus Batt & Co. (formerly David Gordon & Co.) in 1827 to form The Belfast Banking Company.
Here is a £1 note from the first partnership. An interesting feature is reference to payment at Messrs. Croker, Darling & Co. This agent was based at the time in Townsend Street, Dublin.

Here is an example of an unissued Belfast Commercial Bank 35 shillings note. The partnership listed was in place for the years 1824-1827. However, as the note is in Irish Currency, it was probably printed prior to 1826.

Nice to see a complete specimen of the design in super grade. Examples from this bank do not often come up.
